Fall is a great time to use glide baits. In this tip, Keith Kavajecz shares how he uses the Shiver Minnow glide bait to catch more walleye in the fall.

When targeting fish in the fall, the key is to look for steeper structure, preferably structure with rock on it too. Often times fish are still deep enough, and are easy to graph yet. Essentially, when targeting fish with the shiver minnow, look for fish hanging out close to the bottom.

When it comes to jigging the shiver minnow, the biggest mistake anglers make is that they often jig too well – meaning they hold their rod up too long. The key is to be quick. Snap it up, and IMMEDIATELY return it back down to the bottom. This technique allows the shiver minnow to jump and glide different directions towards the bottom.
