Austin Felix, who won the Bass Elite on Lake Oahe, covers a simple dropshot trick that is often overlooked.

Most people throwing dropshots use plastic baits, but often do not wacky rig them. Wacky rigging is a lot more common on a senko or stickbait when the presentation is weightless, but Austin has found that wacky rigging a plastic on a dropshot can be deadly. It gives more action and allows the bait to be left in one place while still keeping it off the bottom. Austin also recommends upgrading the weight size to get the line down faster because there will be a lot more drag from the bait.
