In this clip, Scott Mackner shares his go-to bobber fishing setup for spring crappies. On a 7’2″ ultra light rod with 6lb test on a Scheels Outfitters 1000 series reel, Mackner uses a simple stationary bobber and a small jig. As compared with a slip bobber, you’ll get more of a popping action when you jig this setup instead of just dragging the bait forward. So, you’re bait will swim and pop with a bit more of an erratic action to trigger a reaction strike which can be the key for aggressive spring crappies.
