William Libansky talks about Panfish Plastics in today’s video.
When chasing big bluegill, William’s favorite bait is the chigger fry. It has a ton of different tail action, and it looks like a lot of the bugs that big bluegills eat. One of the keys to this plastic is that the tail has so much action that even when holding it it’s still moving.
To take advantage of this action, he will bounce it really hard to get the fish really interested in it. Then when the fish comes up to the bait he will stop and hold it. There’s so much action in that tail just holding the rod tip will keep that tail twitching.
It’s a great universal bait. You can pound it hard, really get a lot of good action out of it, or you can just fish it subtle. Some of William’s favorite colors are purple, white, and a bright chartreuse called Wild Willy. This is his absolute go-to for panfish most of the year.
