Guide Bret Alexander shares with us this simple tip to hooking into more walleye with hair jigs.
When using hair jigs, walleye will often nip at the back of the hair and miss the shank. To avoid this, he recommends using a stinger hook. During the spring when the water is cold, take a small stinger hook and attach it to the shank of your hair jig. This will sometimes double, if not triple, the number of fish you’ll hook up with. This is a simple, cheap, and efficient way to increase your catch rate.
Give this tip a shot and see how many more walleye you land this spring.
