Adam Griffith shares why the Clam Pinhead Pro is one of his go-to crappie lures.

One of the new features of the Pinhead Pro is that they added a new snap. What Adam likes to do is leave some with this snap on and use some without it. This variation allows you to get multiple actions out of the same lure.

Without the swivel you get more of a rigid action. In this case, the bait’s not allowed to swivel back and forth. When leaving the snap on, the bait has a much more relaxed “back and forth” action.

Essentially you get two totally different actions, depending if the snap is attached or not. So the beauty of the pinhead is that whether you leave the snap on or take it off – it’s a very effective bait.

Next time you are out on the ice, give both of these variations a try and see which variation looks better for you.
