Mike Rodgers shares tips on how to use the Garmin Panoptix LiveScope™ System.
Using Forward View to Relocate Fish
It’s no secret that the Garmin Livescope is a great tool for locating fish. However, it’s also great for relocating fish. When drilling a hole, fish get spooked. The Garmin Forward view has allowed Mike to learn how to adjust to these movements, and has found fish often move only 30 feet away. A great way to combat this is to identify the moving school with LiveScope then drill out passed them, essentially pushing them back in. In this video, he is shooting a 35 foot diameter when he is on the pod of fish, but will adjust out to 65+ feet to start relocating these fish again.
Using Down View to Fish With Multiple Lines
Once he finds a school he is going to setup on he will often switch to down view (found by going into Menu -> Sonar Setup -> Installation -> Orientation ->Down). This allows him to see multiple lines and of course watch the fish react hit the lure. This is his preferred orientation when shack fishing.
All in all the Garmin Panoptix LiveScope™ System is an awesome tool to locate pods of fish and help you make the most of your day on the ice.
