During Virtual Angling’s last “Live Session” featuring Jason Mitchell and Nick Lindner, Jason asked Nick what his biggest takeaway from using live imaging has been so far. Most anglers answer that question by talking about observing fish behavior, or being able to find schools of fish, but Nick’s answer was one that isn’t talked about often.
Nick began by explaining how live imaging showed him how thick schools of walleye are often tucked in weed lines. But his answer got really interesting when he said he would pan his transducer 180 degrees away from the weed line and out over the basin. He then described seeing giant marks suspended just off the break line, over deep water. And when he targeted those fish, he realized they were almost always giant walleye.
