The fall bite is on!!
This time of year is my favorite time of year to be out on the water fishing. With the water temps dropping the fish are getting more active and feeding heavily. I am seeing water temps from 58-62 degrees.
Leech Lake is putting out lots of perch and walleyes. I have been fishing the north end of Walker Bay in 4-8 feet or water. Pitching 1/8oz TG gold jig tipped with a fathead. I like using a larger size fathead as it keeps the smaller fish away and it catches the occasional walleye.
Tossing a 1/8 or 3/16 oz Tikka in Glow Pink Tiger is also working.
I like moving around and spot locking and casting around picking off a few larger fish in the school and then move on to the next batch.
Another great way to catch walleyes is to rig redtails a long the weeds lines in 10-12 foot of water.
