We have been primarily walleye fishing, but also targeting largemouth and smallmouth bass.
Walleyes – Jigs with crawlers and leeches, slip bobbers, lindy rigs, and pulling leadcore near the key basis on the lake such as Niles Bay, Wolf, Frazier, Daisy, and Big Bay. 14-22 feet with live bait rigs and jigs and leadcore 24-28 feet.
Bass – For smallmouth, ned rigs, tubes, swim bait and some top water depending on the conditions. Largemouth bass the top water bite has been great using top water frogs. Also working thicker cabbage areas in some of the bays such as Larson, Indian, and Muskego on the West Side and Armstrong and Stuntz on the East Side. For smallmouth the fish are on the edges of the larger rock piles and at times suspending off of them. Deeper boulders are the key. You can catch fish along the shorelines still, but the size won’t be as good. For largemouth bass, shallower back water bays fishing the lily pads and reeds has been best.
