Water Temp 66 Degrees
Lots of fish in the main lake are headed to deeper water so some of the best fishing is near Pierre in the shallower river environment. Current breaks and sand bars on the edges of river channels have been holding fish. Running both #2 Aberdeen and slow death plain hooks in red with a half crawler behind a 2-ounce bottom bouncer with a short 30-inch leader WITH the current in 4-8 feet have been putting limits topside. Start and stop bites are common, so moving around helps fill those bags. Returning to a school after giving the spot a rest has also proved effective.
