Water Temp 75 degrees
The trolling bite is picking up, but we’re not seeing great numbers yet, and deep trolling is a grind right now.
Troll shad style baits at 2-3.2mph with lead core or snap weights over 20-30 feet. You have a shot at bigger fish running on big stick bait of the back right in the prop wash too.
If you’re looking to catch low numbers but big fish, guys with forward-facing sonar are doing well putting jigging raps in front of fish in around 30 feet. This technique takes practice and dedication, so allow yourself some grace until you get good at getting the lure over the fish. Cleaned fish seem to be heavily feeding on smelt, so blue/green/purple flashy colors have been good.
