IT IS TIME TO GET SKINNY!!
Skinny water that is. The time has come. The time is now. Calling all anglers. Big boats, small boats, kayaks, shore anglers….THE KINGS ARE HERE! with that west wind and the cooling temps the fish have started their staging process allowing fantastic fishing near shore.
Lets start with if you are fishing from shore. They are seeing success multiple ways. You can soak alwives that you can dip net right off the pier. You can cast heavier spoons like Al’s Gold Fish, Jb casting spoons, little cleos, you can cast tikas and rip jig them back or you can throw cranks that have lots of Vibration like Mag lips or rattle traps. The North pier is a good spot as well as the walls throughout the river down town.
Kayaks and float boats can do the same thing starting at the Lighthouse working the Marina and all the way up river. As the season continues, those fish will continue to make their way farther up river
Boats…. Big. Small. IT DOESNT MATTER now! No riggers needed. Lots of flat lines and screaming drags. Get your Off Shore boards and get them out to the sides. Plugs, maglips, spoons, fast tracks, sticks. Set em and hold on! 2.0-2-5mph depending on the day and find alittle mud water and work the edges. North filtration plant to golf course can be good. South black river can be good.
There also is a school of Silver fish sitting out in 80-120
Trolling not your thing? Grab your tikas and spoons and start rip jigging! Hold on, they will tear that rod out of your hand
Good Luck
