Fishing around the Hackensack area has been good. We have recently received another 10 inches of snow which is making it a little bit tougher getting around the lakes (Bring a shovel if plan on driving your truck on the lake). I am finding a little more slush on some of the lakes after this new batch of snow.
The crappies and gills swimmingtogether in 15-21 feet of water on the edge of the break heading towards the deep-water basin. Lowrance Active target is a very helpful tool to finding and staying on the fish. Time to start checking the swallow water bays as we are getting into longer days and more sunlight to rejuvenate the weeds and oxygen. CPT #10 Wonderbread colored or Red glow Drop Kick jig tipped with 3-4 mixed colored Euro larvae is the ticket and a 1/32 oz Red Glow Pinhead Mino with 2-3 mixed colored Eura larvae on each hook.
Stay safe and happy fishing.
