Scott Merwin shares a simple tip for turning over more crappie.
When crappie fishing, there are often days where the crappies are just light lippin’ it and it’s hard to detect the bite. During these days it’s important to switch to a spring bobber which makes it possible to detect these finesse bites.
In this video, Scott is working real finicky fish while using a 27 inch light Scepter from Clam Outdoors.
However when using a rod like this, it’s incredibly important to pay attention to the cadence. This is because there is much more give in a spring bobber tip, therefore it’s important to move that tip and therefore creating a rapid cadence to draw in those fish.
Then depending on the bite, start to slow it down, jig it Iightly, or swim it. When you notice that tip barely move be sure to set the hook.
