Fishing on Upper Red has been most productive in shallow water in the 4-7 foot range. Deeper areas beyond 9 feet on the North side are clearer but seem to be slower.
Several accesses are open right now from JRs to Red Lake Remote. Rogers is expected to open on Friday. Increasing winds on Wednesday have the potential shift ice sheets, so be cautious. Beacons is currently providing their ATV shuttle service, but most other areas are walk-on only.
Small spoons with rattles are the ticket in the dark, dirty water.
