Fishing primarily for bass this past week. They are definitely in that “limbo” time of year where they can’t make up their minds. Seems like one day they crush the moving baits like chatterbaits and spinnerbaits, and then the next day they want a jig just barely crawling across the bottom. The weightless wacky rig has done some damage as well.
The “shallower” bite continues. Not much going on (for bass) deeper than about 12-feet from what we’re seeing. A lot of weeds/grass still playing a role, as well as gravel and even woods/lay-downs. Right now it seems like the fish are literally in their fall transition, which can lead to little to pattern activity. So, you want to be willing to move a lot and cover water, as you will be intercepting them 1-2 fish at a time. Be ready to have your foot on the trolling motor!!
