Mostly targeting bass, but stumbling into a handful of pike and walleyes mixed in as well.
A wide array of presentations this go-around. Swimbaits have been putting some larger fish in the boat… name soft plastic swimbaits like Largo Shads and those styles… 4” versions. I’ve been pairing them with the All-Terrain Tackle Smasher Head. Ned Rigs and drop-shots have been working very well on the weed lines as well. The Z-man Nedlock head paired with a Mister Twister Ned Ringer has been the go-to ned rig setup. Then for a drop-shot we’ve been focusing on 1/4-ounce cylinder weights with Roboworms and tubes for the bait of choice. Chatterbaits continue to catch fish as well.
Everything from 3-25 feet of water. Wide range, I know. Lol. We’ve seen such a variance in weather patterns over the last couple of weeks that we’ve been bouncing all over. One day it’s deep coontail, the next day it’s up against the bank. I’d say the deeper, off-shore structure is starting to be the key focus though. You can’t be fair-weather right now. If you have to fish in the wind to get bit, then fish in the wind. Pick your best chances of catching fish and go with it.
