Twin Cities Metro, MN (August 31st, 2023)

We have been fishing for mainly bass with some nice pike mixed in. Seems like a lot of fish are still relating deep.  Deep weed lines, offshore structure, etc.  However, we’ve seen some fish beginning to move back into that 6-10 foot zone lately, but it can definitely depend on the body water, water clarity, weed growth, etc.  So it can depend on the lake.  Summer patterns seem to still be in full-force though. Look for deeper weed clumps OUTSIDE of the weed line… a lot of fish are relating to those isolated pieces of structure right now.  Also don’t be afraid to put on a heavier weight and flip a weedless jig into the “jungle” of weeds, you might be surprised what’s buried in there!!

We’ve been flipping and pitching a lot of jigs.  Namely All-Terrain Tackle Rattlin A.T. Jigs and Finesse Jigs, also Grassmaster Jigs.  Ned Rigs and jig worms continue to work as well.  We’ve seen some shallower movements where chatterbaits have been catching some fish, too.
