- What have you been catching the last few days?
Bass and pike. - What presentation(s) worked?
Oh boy… this one is all over the place again because the weather/pattern can’t make up its mind. One day it’s still summer-like patterns with ned rigs and flipping jigs, then the next day we’re winding chatterbaits, spinnerbaits and swim jigs. Need to be versatile this time of year. Water temps are fluttering between 65-73 degrees still… so plenty warm as we stare October in the face!! - What depth/structure?
Similar response to presentations… we’re all over the place. We’ve had good bites in 8-12 feet on weed lines and then good bites up in 3-5 feet of water. Generally speaking though, the fish seem to be relating to shallower water and structure. Weeds and sand have been a good combo lately as well. - Provide your best tip for someone new to the lake
Don’t be afraid to fish both extremes right now… meaning, you might have to slow down and you might have to speed up. Ned rigs and jig worms can definitely be a player, but so can chatterbaits, cranks and other “moving baits”.
