SW Metro Area, MN (July 1, 2024)

With the higher than usual water levels and cooler water temps due to the high water and cool nights. I’m finding that all species of fish are staying shallow under 10 ft of water. Bass, pike and panfish are relating to the new weed growth with some fish being super shallow on dirtier bodies of water. The walleyes continue to stay up om shallow rocks and weedlines with sand or gravel edges the best bite has been during the daylight hours with some fish being caught at night on super clear bodies of water. This should change once the water levels start to drop and the water temps rise the fish will start making there way to their summer off shore locations.

Bass, panfish and walleyes can be caught on drop shot using plastics or live bait in some cases. As well as smaller swimbaits for walleyes either slowly retrieved near the bottom or rip jigging them back to the boat. The pike are biting on all presentations.
