Rainy Lake, MN (June 19th, 2023)

The fishing has been great up at Rainy Lake for the past couple weeks. Walleyes are being caught in 12-20 feet of water right now. Anglers are having success trolling crank baits, running spinner rigs or casting a variety of jigs. Big northern pike are being caught in 6-12 feet of water on stick baits. Smallmouth bass are still being caught on shoreline structure on tubes and hard baits. Crappies are done spawning and being found over mud in 12-20 feet of water on spinner rigs. Rainy lake water surface temperature is around 70 degrees at the time of this report. Water levels are steady, but we could use some rain.
