We are back on the open water with this recent warm spell. Let me tell you it definitely feels good to get back in the boat. The Walleye and Sauger bite is real good right now. No big fish, but a lot of quality fish up to 21 inches.
Water temp is around 38° and we have anywhere from 2-3 feet of clarity. The pool level is low so the flow is down.
Fish seem to be scattered all over. From Lake Pepin ice pack to the dam. Vertical jigging has been good along with Dubuque rigs. Berkley Powerbait curly bone, bonefish, rib worm and ripple shads have been the best producers. Greens, purple and white colors have been good. Each day is different depending on cloud color.
