The Iowa Great Lakes Fishing report here. West Okoboji is producing gills anywhere from 24′ to 35′ of water. They are roaming a lot so you have to do some running and gunning to stay on a good bite. Using Shuck’s Jigger Minnows tipped with red worms is working great. Several methods to using these under a slop bobber, jigging straight down or even casting to them and let it slow fall with a slow retrieve. Some crappies are still being caught over the deep weed edges with plastic and jig. Bass are still going well on deep weed lines as well and the crawdads are main forage now for bass so match the hatch and it’s game on. A few walleye have been caught in 25 to 30′ ft of water on main lake sand bars, slowly working a crawler harness. East Okoboji fish up along the docks and a couple of the main lake points. Big Spirit is in a big algae bloom and not much success has been had up there at this time.
