This week we went back out the the Missouri River and concentrated from the ND Stateline to Fort Yates, focusing on transition areas such as mud flats in 13-18 FOW just off the main channel. We had successful days with 15-20 fish caught which included 14”-21” Walleyes along with several 12” Perch.
Downsizing was key. Normally 1/4oz spoons produce very well, but lately fish have been finicky and dropping down to the 1/8oz PK Predator spoon in Perch Hologram has gotten the fish to bite. We missed some bigger fish after switching to the 1/8oz Predator and found that upsizing the treble hook on this lure was helping to landing more fish.
Ice conditions are rapidly deteriorating along the edges but one on the ice conditions are still holding solid ice.
