Fishing on the Missouri River over the past month has been a challenge. The bite has been on of the toughest I’ve seen for a spring. Early March it was good and seemed to taper off as the month progressed. My to go to baits were 1/8-1/4 jigs and plastics. For plastics any fluke style bait that is similar to a smelt in size and color is best.
Pitching current seams and behind islands or finding some deeper holes in the river seems to yield the best results. Your low light periods as always seem to increase the bites on the river as well. When fish are caught they seem to be good, solid fish.
