Leech Lake, MN (September 27th, 2022)

Walleye and Perch have been the primary targets.

Perch – Jig and fathead or rainbow. Sand flats around Sand Point, Mounds Point and Walker Narrows in 5-10 feet of water.  Cabbage areas in Sucker and Steamboat bays also.

Walleye – Spinners, lindy rigs and slip bobbers.  Jig and a Minnow is getting better especially on windy days and will only get better as the water cools down. Sand Flats, breaklines and edges in 14-20 feet of water pulling spinners, rigs and at times if is calm fan casting at them with a jig or slip bobber.  Look to ares around Little Hardwoods, Grand Vu Flats, Pine Point and Duck Point.  On windier days, look to the windblown points.  The East Side of the lake in the Fall is usually very good due to the Westerly Winds so Five Mile, Battle, Sugar and the areas around Bear Island.
