There has been a major mayfly hatch on a vermillion, but the workaround is to find areas of the lake with sand in 16-19ft to avoid emerging nymphs on mud bottoms.
Lindy rigging a minnow or jig and minnow has been great in these depths, while a slip bobber and leech has been good in 6-9 feet.
The water is still very high from recent flooding, so anglers are encouraged to use no wake near shore.
Water temps are hanging steady in the 60’s.
