Sakakawea report
Fishing has been a little up and down this week depending on the where you go. Newtown area is very good with easy limits. Been hearing about a good bite all the way down to Independence Point. Those fish can be taken just about any way you want to fish right now. I was there last Monday and had no problem taking a nice limit with jigs and minnows both pitching and long lining anywhere from 2 to 12 FOW. Water temp was 58 degrees for the most part.
The rest of the week was spent fishing the bays west of Garrison. Some days have been pretty good, and some are a grind, but we have been limiting out every day. Water temps rang from 53 to 62 where we have caught fish. Fish slow dropping structure, pitching jigs and minnows has been the best presentation. This time of year, I never leave the bays and seldom get any further than a mile from the ramp. Plenty of fish in the bays.
