Current ice conditions are improving daily, but it has been a slow start to this year’s hard water season. The last couple days we have been monitoring the ice to make sure our traditional travel routes, and fishing locations are safe. With most of Four Mile Bay holding 6-8” of ice, there are locations in the bay that have less. On the north side of Pine Island, the crews have been dragging the ice and staking the trail. Most areas of travel have been measuring 8-10” of ice, but there are spots that just iced over and are only measuring 2-5 inches thick. We are planning to pull houses out and get this season started!!
We have cabins available this weekend, and some roads are allowing snowmobile and ATV traffic out. Miles Lab Bar & Grill is open for the season. So come join us, and always be sure to follow the ice road rules and stick the marked trails.
