This week the Mille Lacs Lake Guiding team was fishing the north side Mille Lacs sand for the Minnesota fishing opener. We found walleye in the 14 to 25 inch size range by using our sonar to find large boulders. Pitching a jig and plastic seemed to be the most effective as well as a slip bobber and a leech. Most of the boulders we targeted were in the 19-20 ft depth range. Using your sonar is key to finding structure where the fish are located on Mille Lacs.
The lake is full of fish and if it’s your first time or you want to gain some valuable knowledge on this fishery book a guide trip with us!
