Lake Mille Lacs, MN (June 26th, 2023)

Over the past week on Lake Mille Lacs, we have seen two separate bites shaping up. The walleye have started to move out to the mud flats and have been found roaming the deep edges of the flats in 26-30 feet of water. Slip bobbers and leeches as well as crawler harnesses have been picking them off in these areas. The second bite is the remnants of the fish on shallow weed edges in 6-10 feet of water. Slip bobber and leech as well as a crawler harness are yielding fish in these areas as well.

In both areas the fish we have been catching have been anywhere from 14-27 inches. The bite has slowed a bit with some sporadic hatches happening but fish are still catchable. If using a slip bobber be sure to cast it past the fish and slowly work it back to them. This catches more fish than dropping in directly on them.
