Mille Lacs has FINALLY capped over. The cold temperatures and calm winds the last couple days really sped up the freezing process. On the north end near the resort we are finding 2.5-3 inches of consistent ice out to the first break. We are not comfortable enough to open to walking traffic yet, but we will be checking ice conditions daily and once the ice is safe we will be allowing foot traffic.
There is fishable ice in Isle Bay at the moment (picture was taken in Isle Bay), as well as on other lakes in the area. We do have lodging available at the resort for anglers looking to fish the area.
