Coming into September I would say they fishing has been very steady all year. We’re starting to slowly move into the fall patterns of fishing and locating them but still falling back on mid summer techniques. The shallow water bite is different every day, but what remains steady is fishing deeper in the water column. We’ve been using 1/4 oz jig tipped with a minnow, jigging the bottom anywhere from 24ft all the way to 32ft. Lots of small walleyes are holding in those depths but great keepers are mixed in. The bigger slot fish seem to be holding in the 35ft range and staged at the base of reefs. Pulling lead core has seemed to prove itself effective as-well. Jumbo perch have been showing themselves periodically now mixed in with the walleyes.
