Water temps are staying in the 64°-68°, walleye fishing has been a mix between fishing 35-40 ft and fishing 8-12ft. If you’re looking in the shallow water, we’ve been using night crawlers with spinner rigs on bottom bouncers or using 1/8th oz jig casting them! Lots of great eater fish being caught and lots of small walleyes are showing themselves. It looks like we are going to have a great future coming up with the amount of small walleyes in the fishery!
We have great forage in Kabetogama currently with lots of bait schools and it seems like if you find the bait schools, you find the fish! Jumbo perch are very prevalent being caught mixed in with the walleyes.
