Fishing since opener has been very good to us all. Water levels have been a bit higher than normal this year, but not as high as the floods we had in 2022. We are finding a variety of species and walleye of all sizes. I’ve been tying on 1/8th-1/16th oz jigs tipped with a rainbow or shiner and casting in 5-10 ft of water on the wind blown shores of bays and points. We’re picking up quality walleyes and a fair amount of perch using this technique. Out in the deeper water around 22-28 ft we have been picking up walleyes using a 1/4 oz jig tipped with rainbows or fatheads.
