Lake Kabetogama (June 13th, 2022)

Kabetogama Walleye

Fishing has been nothing less than stellar!

Methods of use currently have been jigging deep water, 20ft-35ft. Using 1/8oz to 1/4oz bright colored jigs tipped with a shiner or rainbow minnow. We have an abundance of walleyes from last years hatch, so you might have to catch a release a few smaller walleyes to get to the keepers. Shallow water fishing is heating up with crawlers and leech’s but we’re just getting started due to cold temps. Look for 10ft and less depth on the edge of the weeds.

Water temps are starting to rise and we are currently sitting just shy of 60° on the main lake and in the low to mid 60°s in the bay, water level has peaked and is currently dropping back to normal levels. Just remember to fish the windy side of points, islands, and bays, for that’s where the bait fish are being blown into!
