Green Bay, WI (May 7, 2024)

Water temps in the lower bay are hangin in the mid 50’s making male smallmouth bass begin to bed and act funky. Head north near Ephraim for better pre-spawn smallmouth bites throwing, swim baits, jerkbaits and hair jigs over shallow flats.

For walleye, smaller fish are being caught in shallow water on jigs and some fish are also being caught trolling crankbaits at speeds around 1.8mph. Look to increase your trolling speeds as the water warms up. Fishing for big female walleye has slowed but plenty of action remains for eater walleye and smallmouth.
