WALLEYE:

The walleye bite has been phenomenal fishing the Oconto shoals. The go-to tactic has been trolling Rapala Shad Raps in black and silver with snap weights. Run your snap weight with the 20/20 configuration. Set your cranks 20 feet back, attach the weight (2oz), and put the bait back another 20 feet while trolling at 2.2-2.3mph. Some fish are also being caught around the shark fin with crawler harnesses on the mudflats.

PERCH:

For perch, look slightly deeper than the walleye in 22-25 feet. A drop shot and a 2-inch piece of crawler has been excellent for some jumbo perch action.

MUSKY:

This week, muskies have slid off the edges in 15-20 feet but are still near weeds. These off-the-edge fish have been responding well to mag dawgs. Using perspective mode on Garmin LiveScope has been a good way to find these fish quickly.

The stable, warm water should keep fishing for all species good in the weeks ahead.
