When the temperatures go up the perch start eating in NE South Dakota! We have mostly been targeting jumbo perch and they bite one day and not the next. But when the temps are up, the bite is on and it doesn’t seem like lure color matters . Gold is always on one of our setups though. Jigs are helpful when the fish are picky, and minnow profile lures or spoons work well on the days the fish are biting aggressively. Been targeting them in 10-14 ft of water.
Move around until you start marking fish on your sonar and then work the school. Once temperatures level out above 30 degrees the bite should really pick up.
