Door County, WI (May 24th, 2023)

Captain Kyle Tokarski from Green Bay, Wisconsin, here with this week’s fishing report.

This past week, I’ve been guiding smallmouth bass in the Sister Bay area in the upper part of Door County. The bite has been very up and down with the lack of wind and high sky’s. For baits I’ve been using; 1/8 oz hair jigs, Ned rigs, and MegaBass Vision 110 jerkbaits.

Most fish are pushing up on the flats, mainly sand, in depths ranging from 2- 8 feet of water. Water temps have been ranging from 49 to 54 degrees. Most fish are still pre spawn yet. My hot tip is to stay away from the crowds. These big bass do not handle pressure well.
