Ice conditions are fine but you need to use extreme caution near ridges, cracks, bridges, and current areas. We are supposed to cool down this week which should hopefully help to heal up some of the cracks and ridges.
As for the bite.
It’s been a bit hit or miss. Walleyes are best in the mornings or late afternoons. Work humps, brush/timber, or rock piles for best results. We are often in 10-20 ft of water. Buckshots with a minnow head have been good. We have also had days where j-raps have triggered some nicer fish to bite.
Perch fishing has been more inconsistent. We suggest working the basin and drilling lots of holes. We usually have no problem finding them, it’s finding the right size and then getting them to bite. Smaller tungstens tipped with spikes has been the best for us.
Again, use caution on the lake as we have had a lot of warmer temps the last 10 days.
