The ice is slowly dwindling as everybody prepares for open water. There are very, very few people fishing right now, but there is still some good fishing if you aren’t afraid to walk. Crappies can be found on the edge of the basin, and in the basin. Remember, if you fish for deep fish, you should catch what you keep. With all the larger fish being out of season, perch, crappie and sunfish are the go to. Tungsten jigs with plastics or wax worms seem to be the best bet right now. The bite is very very light. If you locate fish on your sonar and see them coming to your jig make sure to watch the tip of your rod to see the bite or you will not get them.
With shores receding and ice conditions dwindling, please be safe out there and use your head.
