Dax Szegda here coming to you from Chetek WI this week. Big gamefish season has ended in Wisconsin so now we just chase panfish until the ice melts. That being said, many say this is the best time to catch the biggest panfish so get out, enjoy the weather and hopefully catch a few while enjoying the outdoors!!
The perch and panfish bite is getting better each day with the longer light days, good ice and safe travel, it will be a good month of March to ice fish. Small tungsten jigs tipped with your favorite plastic or live bait have been working well.
We have been fishing anywhere from 4-12 ft of water and most of our areas have submerged wood or debris in the area.
