Chequamegon Bay
Water temps are in the mid to high 60’s and the bass are very scattered. Finding them in anywhere from 3-12 feet. Weeds, wood, and gravel are all holding fish. Best presentations have been Ned Rigs, Wacky Worms, and topwater. The water is very stirred up from all the wind and rain we’ve had lately so finding somewhat clean water has been key.
Inland NW WI:
Walleyes are starting to transition to deeper weed edges in 8-15 feet of water, best presentations has been a 1/4oz Jig and Kalins Jerk Minnow. Making contact with the weeds seems to get more bites vs staying above them. When the bite gets tough a leech and slip bobber has been tough to beat.
Crappies are also moving deep. Finding them in deep cabbage and milfoil in 12-18 feet of water. Casting small jigs and plastics has been doing very well. Morning and evenings have been best (fishing clear water).
