Managing your line is everything, especially when you’re targeting panfish with light line and the smallest jigs. When using a spooler reel, line twist can easily become a real issue. To help control the twist, Jason Mitchell chooses a spooler that doesn’t have a lever or switch like the Clam Spooler Elite (shown below) where you can simply pull and stretch your line to take the memory out of it. Ensuring that your jig hangs as it should without spinning in the water by reducing your line twist this way can help you catch a lot more fish, especially when the bite gets tough.
