Northwest Metro Area, MN (May 3rd, 2023)

Lately we have been fishing in the northwest metro for panfish.  Crappies have been active in 6-10’ of water. Lake temps are hovering around 48-50 degrees.  We caught crappies from 7-13”. We are live scoping schools and targeting those individual schools.   Slip bobbers and small crappie minnows have been the bait of choice.

Advice for people fishing in this area:  hire a guide for a few hours and understand what is working. Then be mobile and keep searching for fish.
