We have been fishing the NE section of South Dakota known as the Glacial Lakes area. We have mostly been targeting jumbo perch, walleyes and the pike have been targeting US. Depending on the lake we have been finding the walleye and pike in 2 ft, yes I said 2 ft, up to 10 ft. Unfortunately for us, perch do not hold to structure and we are still finding (and chasing) them in the basins.
The gold kastmaster 1/8 oz size has seemed to be ye best ticket for us. As always, if the fish seem finicky, downsize to small tungsten jigs tipped with waxworms or spikes. Perch eyes also are a great choice to tip lures with when the fish don’t want to bite.
